FIVE WAYS TO WIN MY HEART

GOOD FOOD

This will come as no surprise to most, as I always upload images of special delicacies made by and for myself. I’m sure I’ll be a successful chef if I decide to go into that line. I also make sure to give myself good treats from time to time. Catfish pepper soup, fried fish and fried chicken will really go a long way in getting me to do things that I normally wouldn’t do. Nothing, and I mean nothing can take the place of garri ijebu in my heart.

Lately I’ve limited my choice of alcoholic beverages to vodka (because it leaves you breathless) and apple cider (they don’t taste as bad as regular beer). I’ve created my own cocktail that tastes good and can be taken at any time of the day – SmirnOff X1 + Zobo + Very cold Water + Orange/Carrot juice.

Soft drinks have been taken of my list of consumables. My love for sugar won’t make me stop taking juice but I’m considering the idea of making them myself. Commitment to the cause is the wahala.

MEANINGFUL CONVERSATIONS

I’m an introvert on most days but that’s never stopped me from being a chatty person. Yes, I talk a lot and it gets worse when drinks are involved (you won’t get any secrets out of me, so don’t even think about it). How much I talk however depends on how much you talk and how much sense is in what you say.

I suck at small talks but really good at topic-based conversation and I love arguing, very much (unless I know you don’t know how to argue or you argue emotionally, then I just try and end the conversation with the legendary OK🙂 ).

Oh, and I really don’t enjoy chatting with people who can’t write most of their words in full. There is something very wrong wirh their heads. Most of them use phones smarter than them these days so you can simply write a few alphabets and the phone will do the job of helping you spell since that’s what you find very hard to do.

The only people worse than them are those that can’t hold basic conversation. Every chat is like an interview. Then they get mad because you’re asking many questions. It’s mostly the “fine girls” that do that. I learnt it’s because they are used to everyone wanting to talk to them, they never really saw the need to learn how to properly respond.

Research shows that books and anime lovers and travellers are the best in this area. That’s why I picked up reading as a habit. I will always fall asleep after a few minutes of watching any cartoon. Just not my thing.

SENSE OF HUMOUR

I’m not gifted in the arts of making people laugh except the few weirdos I have as friends. I like people who have really weird sense of humour and people with thick skin. People who don’t take offence easuly. If you can make me laugh and take a joke, you can make me open my wallet.

ADVENTURE

I like adventures and I like people who like adventures. I find anyone who’s not on that page boring and unexposed. Like what is your purpose in life if you can’t even explore and take risks and go wild. God didn’t create you to be just basic, you moron. Born, grow, die. YUCK!!!

When I meet you, you should be able to tell me about your last trip and crazy experiences. The people you met, the food you ate, the things you learnt, the things your friends dared you to do, the night you got drunk or helped that old woman cross the road. I don’t want to hear story of just your boring day at work, that’s for your boyfriend(s).

MUSIC

I listen to all sorts of music (except American rap and American hiphop. They’re just too much without sense except for a few). Your taste in music sure says a lot about your personality. So if you’re like me whose playlist contains all sorts of genres from Sunny Ade to Pasuma, Passenger to Ludovico Einaudi, Oumou Sangare to Fela, Jason Mraz to Andrea Bocelli you must be a very awesome person with an open mind and open heart. Not those people who only listen to the same kind of music all the time.

So, you can win my heart by being a foodie with good sense of humour who can hold reasonable conversations and can pack a bag for random trips and has a song for every situation and environment.
